The environment

The environment is not a positive or even a passive entity. It is a negative one as far as mankind is concerned. The reason is theological, not chiropractic. We acknowledge it in chiropractic terms by saying universal forces are destructive toward structural matter. Nature is universal forces. It is our antagonist. We and medicine agree on this fact. Where our difference lies is in the belief that we have the wherewithal to, under normal circumstances, adapt to nature and overcome universal forces. Chiropractors believe that we do. Medical doctors believe that we do not.

  1. Sadly enough, more and more chiropractors are believing/thinking more like medical doctors than chiropractors, mostly due to their medical training and upbringing. I was perusing a chiropractic messageboard and came across a chiro asking for help with one of his young female patients experiencing low back pain. If you didn't know better you would think from reading the responses that you were on an orthopedic messageboard. They were diagnosing and recommending tests and treatments that would make your head spin. I don't know about you, but I guess I was absent the day they taught internet diagnosis in chiro school! After almost 40 posts someone suggests that the pt be counseled to not return to her competition in gymnastics until she can perform the movements without discomfort and that "at her age he would think it wise to listen to what her body is telling her". What a novel idea! Listen to your body, at her age?? Amazing. Then again I guess the body is unable to do anything on its own without interevention.

Then how do you explain the adjustment of subluxation for the better/fuller expression of innate intelligence? Can't the body better express it without having a chiropractor adjust a subluxation?
